Our story
Doorstep Gardener was born during lockdown, April 2020. Garden centres were closed and plants were going to waste at nurseries. How could we help get garden plants direct to people in their homes? We found friends and neighbours eager to help and a local golf club kindly lent us the use of their car park, where we collated customer orders and loaded vans.
There was a lot of demand and we were overwhelmed at times but delivering plants to customers in their homes gave us a real sense of purpose, as we were helping people improve their wellbeing at a difficult time. Meeting customers was such a pleasure and it was those doorstep chats that informed the way our business has evolved and our purpose remains:
